in my experience i have seen the internet hate a lot of things. most of them were stupid things to hate but were understandable considering the people hating them (i.e. jersey shore bc it reminded them of people who bully them etc). however i cannot for the life of me find any sort of justification for the crazy ass hatred from internet people i see for a pair of HEADPHONES.
would any expert on the subject help me out here? or perhaps could a beats by dre hater care to explain himself ITT?
I mean yeah, they're better than the $10 headphones I constantly buy, but not ten times better. Just my opinion at least. I assume the Internet has particular hatred because of the celebrity endorsement deal, and they may be onto something there. You could have the same product and nobody would care about it if it was called "beats by ertyu"

not an extreme expert on the subject, but i am pretty sure you can get equivalent quality for much less. other than that, my feelings towards them are nonexistent.

I think you're misconstruing honest recommendations for hostility. There's no need to buy Beats. They're fine headphones (though the bass is a bit too much for me), but there is absolutely no reason to buy them. If you want headphones that are comparable/better, you can get them cheaper. And if you still want to spend between $200-300, you can get a much better set of headphones, alongside a portable amp.
It's kind of like buying an Alienware product. Sure, they're fine, but there are better options for less or for the same price.

I dunno, I lose and break headphones constantly, so I wouldn't consider paying that much for headphones even if they were the best thing ever.
Most headphones come with warranties, and most headphones by the makers I mentioned are quality products that don't suffer the same problems as the ones you likely buy. I've had my Sennheiser for four years, and my ATH-m50 for two, and neither are deteriorating. I'm not anal about headphone care, either.

the problem tends to be less with the headphones and more with me being a dingus. Like letting them fall and getting beheaded by a revolving door.

yeah i guess thats what it always boils down to...the internet does seem to have a large amount of people who really dislike anything popular with a passion.
it just seems odd that not even headphones can escape this garbage. while hating on anything bc of its popularity is stupid, doing it to stuff like ipods just seem slightly more reasonable than HEADPHONES. cant really explain why but you probably get what im sayin.
