I'm thinking of buying Rayman Origins once it's available on Steam (game looks amazing), but I'm not sure whether I should pre-order it - and get a free copy of Rayman 2 - or just wait for a Steam sale. Is Rayman 2 worth the extra buck or should I just ditch it and wait for the sale (I'm in no hurry)?
Haven't played any Rayman games, but I really like old-school platformers (DKC in particular). Thoughts?

I loved Rayman 2: The Great Escape right? Awesome game, but it did get repetitive at times. The groove is busted right up when you get to the first mounted cannon though. Love that thing.

From: paperwarior | #003 I hear it was good. And it's been ported to more systems than FFIV. But Rayman Origins is worth preordering anyway.
I probably won't have the time to play it as soon as it comes out, so it's really a question of whether The Great Escape is worth whatever money I would save by waiting for a sale.

I've never played it myself, but during the N64's heyday, several people whose opinions I respect would repeatedly place it on a pedestal alongside Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie. So I would say that it's probably worth it, yes.

Not a huge fan. I wouldn't tell you to purposefully avoid it, but in your situation you should just wait for a Steam sale. It's not worth the ~$15 you'll save on the sale. It has some good bits but it also has some frustratingly awful parts.
