Because I've seen people post links to at least four different Kickstarters here, including the one for DoubleFine recently, and I don't remember any of them getting modded.

Technically, isn't there a difference between linking a kickstarter and actually asking people to send you money? Especially since kickstarters promise things to the donators.

I think that it will be fine if it's not your kickstarter and you don't make it sound like you are promoting it or whatever. For DoubleFine the context it was posted in was like... "oh hey these guys made a kickstarter look how crazy fast is growing" and not "oh hey these guys have a kickstarter you guys should donate".
