Alright let's get this started, firstly the reposting of the rules:
For those that don't know how this works: 1. I will be looking for 20-24 contestants, and dividing them into 2 even teams. 2. Those teams will then compete in flash games. They will be given an allotted amount of time to complete a certain task (high score, quickest time) in said game, failure to do so voids their score. - At anytime, if I find the teams to be unevenly matched, or heck, if I just get bored, I can randomize teams whenever I feel like. 3. Scores are then tallied and totaled by me. Winning team gets immunity, losing team has to vote a member out. - Winning team will have to choose a member (or members) of their team to sit out the next challenge. Losing Team may have to do this as well, teams must be even when they are competing. All depends on current situation. - If two or more members of the losing team have an equal amount of votes against them, they will compete in a 'random past challenge' to determine who stays and who goes. 4. Highest scoring member on the losing team gets immunity and cannot be voted out. - If two or more members of the losing team tie for the high score, they will compete in a 'random past challenge' to determine who gets immunity. 5. When we lose roughly half the players, the teams will merge, rules are similar: Winner of current challenge gets immunity, everyone else can be voted out. 6. When we get to the final 9, the next 7 voted off will be jury members. 7. Those 7 jury members will then vote for which of the final 2 will be the B8 Survivor season 2 winner.
How to submit your score: 1. When you see your high score on the screen of the current challenge, press the 'Print Screen' button on your keyboard. Make sure the picture is good and clear and the high score is plainly visible. 2. Close or minimize your game, then open Paint, or any other program you might have that opens pictures. 3. Paste the picture into a new picture by either selecting 'paste', or pressing 'control + v'. 4. Save the file somewhere on your computer, preferably as a jpeg, but so long as it's a viewable file it's fine. 5. You will then upload this picture to any hosting site: imgshack, imgcake, photobucket, whatever. 6. You will then copy the link to the picture, and send it to me via PM. Make sure it's on time or it doesn't count.
Some dos and don'ts: 1. You can start forums and/or chatrooms for your team to communicate with one another. I actually encourage this, but you don't necessarily have to. 2. You can watch youtubes and search for tips for current challenges. 3. You cannot share scores among teammates. 4. You cannot grab scores from the internet. 5. If I manage to catch anyone cheating in the competition, you will be eliminated from it. Period.
Some other notes: 1. The first season of this competition took roughly 3 months, I don't imagine this one to be much shorter, bare that in mind before determining whither or not you want to sign-up. 2. Make sure you have a decent computer to run the games. I know they are only flash games, but you could and might be surprised. 3. Games will be rated anywhere from Everyone to Mature, be aware of that. 4. Though I'm always open to suggestions, I have the right to run this competition how I see fit.
***Please, if you have any questions, think I left something out, need something clarified, don't hesitate to ask me***
So this season we have two teams of 11, as oppose to 13 last time. Slightly disappointing, but not really, it may actually work out for the better. We have 9 players that participated last time, so welcome back to you all. The teams, you may be able to tell, are not completely random. I took some of the players I knew did well last season and divvied them up the best I could. The majority of you are new though, so it is mostly pretty random. With all that said, here are your teams:
For this challenge you must navigate this little knight through this tiny, tiny castle in order to get to the princess. I mean, how hard could it possible be? I will only be looking at how quickly you got through the castle though, not your coins collected or your score! After beating the game, there is a score pop-up screen, that is the screenshot I want!
- Scores will be due no later than Tuesday, March 6th at 4pm est, giving you a full 2 days from now to complete this challenge.
Important little rules that I missed above: Post I
1. You can only submit one score per challenge, so make sure it is your best score! - You cannot play the challenge, turn in your first score, play the challenge again and beat your previous score, then try to turn in that score as well. I will only accept the first score you turn in.
And for this particular challenge: - Failure to turn in a score will get you an automatic 60 minutes, as well as an Astrix by your name which works similarly to a target on your ass. Please note that the time could change, though I highly doubt it will, I don't think it will take anyone over 60 minutes to completely the challenge.
wg64Z posted... If it's for a forum link, could you just PM it to me here on GameFAQs? I'd rather not download and create an account with AIM if possible.
Same for me.

Important little rules I missed above: Post 2, Vote off and sit outs
- The losing team is given one day to vote a member of their team off. To do so, each member of that team must send me a PM of who they are voting off of the team. If they fail to send me a PM of who they are voting for within the day time limit, they vote for themselves.
- The winning team has one day to choose who is sitting out the next challenge. They must decide as a team who is sitting out, then have ONE PERSON send me a PM telling me who is sitting out the next challenge. If they fail to tell me I will sit out the highest scoring person of the previous challenge. The person sitting out must play in two consecutive challenges after sitting out before he can be sat out again. This is simply to prevent one person sitting out the whole competition. I may alter this rule if a special circumstance comes about, I will deal with that if/when it happens.
Also I need to clarify something: When the losing team is voting a member off, you only vote once. In other words your first PM you send me voting someone off is your last, you can not decide to change your mind later and sent me another PM.
Thanks macheteguy for bringing this to my attention, although I don't think that's what you wanted to hear :P.
Something that was brought to my attention: Deadline times
I will try to make the deadline times for both submitting your scores and voting members off later in the evenings, between 8-10pm est. This however won't always happen, as you can see right off the bat in the first challenge.
Short answer for this is, I work swing shift. When I'm on day shift it's not a problem, I work from 7am to 7pm, get home at 8pm-ish and everything works out. However when I'm on night shift things get tricky. 7pm to 7am the next day makes it hard as I am obviously not around in the evenings.
What I will try to do is make the challenges so they last the duration of the time that I am working night shift that way the deadline lands on my day off. I will try my best to make this work, but it may not always happen, it's all about the timing, just a warning. I will let you know ahead of time however so hopefully you have time to figure things out if/when this happens. With any kind of luck it won't happen often.
That's really all I can say about it right now, I'll try my best to make it work for you guys.
Well here it is, the moment you've all been waiting for, the results of the first challenge. Time to determine who would make a good ally, who would make a better foe, who might last, and who's out quick. Okay maybe not all of that, it is after all just the first challenge, but it does give you a general idea of where some people might stand, especially the newcomers.
So who managed to speed through this castle the quickest? A lot of real good times here, real good. Then a few maybe not so great. I'm pretty sure one person got lost, could still be in the castle. Then some of you were out before you even got in, if that even make sense. And of course, we got the few who didn't bother trying, whither it's a strategy or they just plum forgot, I don't know.
Let's have a look shall we? (** = failed to submit score) -----------------------------------------------------------------------------Blue Team ImTheMacheteGuy..............................10m56s UnderUrMattress ................................60m00s ** GaryOak151.........................................10m05s Justin_Crossing..................................09m28s Great_Paul............................................09m03s Elbeno...................................................10m01s Mewtwo59.............................................08m48s skyterror_10..........................................08m38s cody11533.............................................09m33s wg64Z....................................................15m46s Ajogamer................................................09m54s Total.......................2h24m12s Avg.........................14m45s Participant Avg....10m13s
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well there you have it, Blue team takes this one. It might not have been quite enough, but it sure would have helped if a few more Red guys had participated... Tyder21, I mean, wow. Only time under 8 minutes, and yet it wasn't enough to save your team, it did however get you immunity. Blue Team, super consistent, skyterror managed to get the best time on that side.
- So Red Team, looks like the first person to leave B8 Survivor will be someone from your Team unfortunately, you all have one day to vote. Just send me a PM stating who it is you are voting for. Remember you can't vote for tyder21.
- Blue Team, you're safe for now. However you must choose one person to sit out the next challenge. To do so, discuss amongst the team, then have one person send me a PM of who is sitting out.
You have until Wednesday, March 7th. 4pm est to get everything in.
