Now I know this is all just trollin' fun, but for anybody reading I just wanna point out translation from Japanese to English there. And of course FF7 in particular there's plenty of leeway there, so if you get to the heart of the matter Tifa obviously didn't actually literally call Cloud a retard, thank you.

Eh... I'm incline to agree with MWE. It's actually a stupid insult, and it kind of makes fun of people who actually DO have mental disabilities.

That's my reason for disliking the use of that word, anyway.

My friend was talking about this guy who bagged stuff at the grocery store, and he'd done a really bad job of it. So she said how he'd bagged stuff was retarded, but the guy seemed like he may have actually been retarded. Which actually kind of makes it worse.
