Depends if they are still human. I imagine there will be some need for investigation again to make sure all the entrants are legitimate, but yeah. I think if a body has been completely stripped of its humanity and altered into a totally different being, then it becomes a robot. Cyborgs retain at least partial sense of their humanity.
I dunno, I feel like cyborgs should just be lumped in with robots/androids. In fact, I would guess that no one has nominated cyborgs simply because they figured they'd be lumped into that group.

I'll probably end up going with 10 or 15 on limits. I'm more afraid of a series like Mega Man than anything else really. Could probably easily have all 100 entrants be MM characters if people went crazy.
What about computer programs like Tron, Quorra, and Agent Smith?
There aren't enough special cases like them to stand in their own category so where would they go? And what exactly is a "mecha"?

Lopen posted... Should expand to Robot/Android/Cyborg tbqh
I don't think cyborgs have any place competing with robots. Robots are machines, cyborgs are still human. I'm more certain that Robots and Cyborgs can stand apart than I was about Mages and Healers.
A little further elaboration on why I separate certain things in these contests...
Ryu Hayabusa is the best ninja ever Jack Sparrow is the best pirate ever
These sentences make sense if you repeat them. But lets say I allowed in healer types here. Let's also pretend one of them won.
Aeris is the best mage ever
Could argue that isn't too offensive, but another reason why I decided to disallow white magic users was because the Mage/Wizard game was already so rich with contestants. I felt severing them would increase the number of contests I could run over a period of time (these can theoretically last many years if they remain popular enough and I am still around, but after a while they will just get silly with the themes).
Robots are a different story though. Because...
Barret Wallace is the best robot ever
Makes no sense, yeah? Barret qualifies as a cyborg though, and therefore if I allowed a mix the game would be a bit too rich in possible entrants and the winner wouldn't represent the initial idea of these contests.
Cyborgs are by definition any living character that modifies their body with cybernetic upgrades.
A fictional or hypothetical person whose physical abilities become superhuman by mechanical elements built into the body.
Shooting things out of your arm is superhuman, so yeah. He's a cyborg. Maybe not what most people would think of off the bat, but he certainly would qualify.
crazyisgood posted... If you have a human brain are you a cyborg or robot?
Normally I would say cyborg, but it may very well be a case to case basis type of thing. If a brain has be inserted into a robot, then maybe they are still a robot (a cyborg still needs partial human body parts in theory).
Barrett isn't a cyborg he's a human with cybernetic enhancements (and yes I know that's technically a cyborg but I don't consider it the same thing. Need extensive overhaul to be a cyborg... like, it needs to basically be necessary for you to function-- to me, anyway)
-- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
Maybe, but that isn't the actual definition of cyborg. I did allow a lot of these "mages" that don't really add up to what I consider to be a mage, but by definition I didn't have much choice.
I'd really prefer not, for the reasons I have already outlined. Cyborg and Robot are not synonyms and most characters that would qualify as cyborgs I'd have a real problem with saying "this is the best robot character".
I think charon's issue with cyborgs is a question of degree. He doesn't want a regular human with one mechanical arm getting into the contest. I think he wouldn't have an issue with, say, someone with a human brain but a complete cybernetic exoskeleton. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) But it becomes hard to define the line as to how robot-y is robot-y enough, so he's just chucking the whole category.

Okay, so where does that put 18, who gives birth to a child? And what about artificial humans, such as realians from Xenosaga?
