Long story short, I couldn't sleep because I got the idea to play a bunch of games from last-gen, and was feeling giddy.
So giddy in fact, that I decided to make a topic series (read: blog) about it.
With help from my peers, I decided to start with NBA Street Vol. 2 for Gamecube. Thus begins my journey.
I got excited when I started the game up and it says it's loading my game data. I thought I lost most of my Gamecube saves when my niece got a hold of my memory card.
Then.... there's nothing there. Why would a game say it's loading if there's nothing there? Grr......
Oh well, it's time we BECAME A LEGEND. I make my guy a medium-height, thin, white dude with glasses. That way it's accurate. With extremely limited stats, I take all my power away, so I can afford extra points in both dunks and handling. What else would anyone specialize in this game?
I go to look at potential starting teammates. I look for the best dunker, and it's....... Danielle.... ? Why would a girl be the best at dunking? Silly game.
I start with big guy Ricky for my post, and slightly shorter Asian ball-handler Gilbert (Jeremy Lin) to handle the ball and dish to the two of us. I name the team the OKC Thunder (this game was made in 2003, mind you), and we head to New York for our first pick-up game.
Let's take over basketball.

Our first game is against a team with two black and one white guy. The ratio of black people on our team to theirs is 0. This does not bode well for us.
Sure enough, I have no idea what the **** I'm doing and blow a 14-11 lead to lose 21-16. This stings.
I must do better. The next team we face has two chicks on it.
Piece of cake.
Well, as piece of cake as a 21-19 victory can be, I suppose. >___>

Ugh, I have to go through 5 of these pick-up games before I'm able to do anything else. Win #2 comes much easier than the first. I master the art of Trick Countering, and would've won by double-digits if I hadn't tried unsuccessfully to break the rim with a game-winning dunk a good 6 or 7 times. As such, it's a still-impressive 21-14 win. I go to edit the nerd, and I can afford.......... one point.
Yeah, I'm done with this. This sounded like a lot of fun at first, but this game's not nearly as fun as I remember.
Start recommending games from last-gen, and the first one I own that sounds fun will be played. One per post.

http://img.imgcake.com/nio/81edpngej.png edwardsdv and swordz9 are basically the comedy heel tag team of this topic, why would people be taking them seriously?
1. I'm trying to stay away from story-driven games ITT. They don't make for great reading when the player has already finished it before. 2. I'm probably not going to play a game for too long, unless I really get into it. Which does happen. I played Swingerz Golf a few months ago, and put a good 40-50 hours into it, because it made me realize how underrated it was. I'm planning on just ****ing around for a bit, and then moving on to something else. DQVIII would take forever. 3. If I play a DQ game any time soon, it's gonna be DQIX. I still need to finish that.....
Dante, I so wish I still had that game. Is SvR06 close enough?

CAW's found on this memory card are: Abyss CM Punk Christian
..... no Goldberg How did I not make Goldberg? .... or Sting? Or BOB?! Where the **** is everybody?! God dammit, I want SvR06 back.
Those are the only three real people we made.
After that are the various guys my friends and I made for ourselves (except BOB which is the biggest travesty by far), and I'm going to pick mine up just because I can. Time to work with Dante on filling the roster.

Faces: HBK John Cena Undertaker Rob Van Dam Big Show Kane Matt Hardy Hurricane (CAW)
Heels: Kurt Angle Edge Randy Orton Carlito Finlay The Boogeyman Great Khali Chris Masters
Divas: Lita Trish Stratus Melina Torrie Wilson
Current plans: 1. Job Chris Masters to Hurricane repeatedly to get his popularity up where it should be. 2. Fill each title through a preliminary tournament. 3. Job every Diva to all the guys until their popularity is ****, then fire all of them. 4. We even have a storyline in place to start things off. Kurt Angle will steal $10 from HBK's locker in the first week. HBK will find out through security cameras that it was Angle and sue him. Angle will then find a loophole and countersue, and eventually win.
Pretty sure this is going to be the best GM mode ever.
