Board 8 > Is it just me or are the controls in MGS2 really bad?

I don't think anything really felt all that awkward the first time I played it, but this time around, nothing about the controls feels natural.

I just finished MGS without a problem, but MGS2 isn't working out too well so far.

Also, I really wish they would have updated the camera so it worked more like anything anything than how it works.

imo all the controls in every MGS are bad

but yeah, i remember having issues starting each MGS game due to controls despite having played them all within a relatively short time span

MGS controls have a learning curve, but once you get used to them they work perfectly.

MGS2 has pretty horrible controls, and MGS3 is even worse.

The good news is that it's possible to get used to them and then they work pretty well.

Takes a little getting used to at first, but I think MGS2 has probably the most fluid controls in a MGS game.

MGS has bad controls outside of MGS4 and MGS3 Subsistence.

I think MGS2 controls better than MGS1 and MGS3 though.

I used to complain about MGS controls but then I played RE1. After that MGS games felt much more fluid.

The controls are OK. Sniping mechanics are a joke and the people involved should be ashamed, but most everything else is reasonable. The level/room design is atrocious, though.

The original MGS is the only game in the series with bad controls for a significant amount of the game. The other ones do what they need to.
