NBC can't seem to get get good ratings on anything, so they might say f* it and stick to paying less money to studios while getting other shows to syndication, and then do a major revamp on their entire schedule in Fall 2013. And unlike in the US, British shows tend to make the entire series before they start airing it- DW is due back in Autumn. Not March. I had no idea if/when they had started filming, I was just basing it off of last year when it started in April.
