Me and this one chick used to be AWESOME friends. Alot of common, really cool, etc. around september, she owed me 50 bucks and then october rolled around and thats when my life went downhill. and you guys know that story
and yea, when I needed my friends, she would actually blow me off, leave me hanging, and go hang out with her friends stuff. so I called her out, like "Wtf" and now we're not longer friends
and yea, just now, I remembered she owes me money. So uh, is there any way I can get this back? >_>
If you can ask her and she's decent enough to give it to you, sure you can get it back. There's no like, legal way for you to get it back unless there's some kind of promissory note.
As for how to properly approach it ... I'd go with "Hey you owe me $50."

You really are over-thinking it, in my opinion. You're not friends, all you can do is ask. Or you can get her to like you again, pretend to be her friend, gently bring it up, get the $50 and then tell her you'll pick her up from the airport and then don't do it.
Or really, just anything mean in the end.

$50 is more than half of most phone bills. It's more than half of most electric bills. It can cover insurance for one month. $50 is a full tank of gas. $50 is enough to eat for a week. Two weeks if you are buying really cheap. Getting help from the government doesn't work for everyone, or even most people.

Yes. I just got a bunch of debt from my dad, and I had to buy a plane ticket, so I've been living on a budget.
Bought four of the chow mein things from nissin or whatever .. about $4.80 and that was with buy one, get one so that was eight of those. Buy two or more pizzas and they're $4 each .. bought four of those. Regular ramen is a couple bucks. Bought some apples, $3. Got plenty of water. Also bought a bunch of jalapeno cheese bagels at $.59 each. I wasn't near the $50 with that.
