Board 8 > Vincent plays through Star Wars KotOR [with images] [CYOA-ish]

It's been quite a while since I've played this game (bout three years since I last played it) and I have essentially forgotten all gameplay mechanics (obviously I remember key plot points). Wooooo. Let's do this.

I don't know how long this will last because most people know I easily give up on things like this. But to give you hope I just upgraded my computer and can finally enjoy games like this in high quality (yes, 6 year old games even had trouble because of my dinosaur graphics card I had before this one).

It's going to be 'kind of' CYOA because you guys get to pick the class, name, etc

first off WHAT CLASS AND GENDER SHOULD I PICK

for those who don't know KotOR there are 3 classes



1) Male or female?

2) What class do I pick?
A. Soldier (combat oriented)
B. Scout (in between)
C. Scoundrel (tech oriented I think? don't remember)

First to answer wins these two. With other questions I may do first to three depending on how active this thread gets

Scout is probably the best starter class. Female because that's what I usually play in this one.

Man, I don't know. I always just roleplay the stats. Like my character is going to be charismatic whether or not charisma actually helps my class or not, damn it.

So put all your points into Charisma is my vote.

I go for well balanced with a few extra points put into random catergories. It's totally up to you though.

10 str is all you need and DEX is godtier in KotOR1 but putting 18 in it is fairly questionable.

Like here is what Strength does.

+ damage and hit with Vibroblades
+ damage on lightsabers.

That's it.

Dex gives bonus everything in the lamest possible way.

To hit and bonus damage on blasters, armor, reflex saves, iirc is used for some of the skills, to hit on lightsabers.

Charsima is pretty meh-ish too but sometimes it's nice to have.

INT is pointless after a certain amount of it. 12 might be enough. You have allys to spam most of the skills.

Con and Wis are good to have.

Persuade and Repair, treat injury is nice early too. Make sure to level persuade every time. Repair is nice for spoiler reasons that I wont say.

Also you get pretty much nothing for having odd number stats. BTW So either 10/14 or 12/12 if it's not too late to change it.

It's been a while but I think you get some cool ones for free that will let you have fun like Flurry/rapid fire and you get free implants which is nice. Two Weapon Fighting is pretty awesome for dps but early game you'll never hit with it but it'll be great later, toughness is super awesome but it works retroactively so it's better to take it later on and what not, the skill feats are totally worthless IMO, conditioning is not bad but it wouldn't be my first choice.

I would take Two Weapon Fighting or Toughness if you don't see anything you like because honestly you would grab them anyway later on. But if you see something cool, just ask.
