legal worst case scenario: i miss out on a decent tactical rpg. not a big deal!

but really, don't be surprised if overclocked 2 is announced at tgs this year or sometime early next year. it would be an inexpensive way to buy atlus some more time before a proper 3ds game is released

i'm not saying don't buy it now. by all means, do! i can just wait a year to eighteen months for a remixed sequel with voice acting. if i bought it now there's no guarantee i'd play it, anyway, because i have far too many games to play as is.

and if it never comes out, well, i can live.

This may not be a good thing.

Overclocked somehow got great voice actors for the nameless background characters and secondary non-party characters, but some of the worst they could find for the main cast. Also they lower the music volume way too much during voiced scenes.

Thankfully they provided an option to turn the voices off, which I have utilized.

the only main character i had an issue with was yuzu, which is appropriate, because yuzu is an awful, awful character. the 'nameless background characters' all sounded either lifeless or like caricatures

I haven't gotten through all of Overclocked yet but the voices don't really bother me. Atsuro's fine, Kaido sounds older than I thought he would but he's fine. Most other people I've at least heard a little of and they seemed alright.

Yuzu's really the only exception. I think they got whoever played Anise in TotA for her and it's really grating. But Yuzu was awful beforehand so the terrible voice only reinforces her character.

I had an issue with Spike Spencer as Atsuro because he is reading all his lines like this is some typical over-the-top anime which clashes with the "real world apocalypse" atmosphere. I want him to sound more serious. More like he's actually in a life or death situation.

I think the person who voiced Yuzu is the same girl who did Hanako in Disgaea 2, and yeah, she's awful.

I hate Dolly's voice, but I hate Dolly, so yeah, good job there.

Kaido's fine, Gin's fine, Haru's fine. Mari's fine. Shoji's fine.

Naoya's technically fine, but I always pictured him sounding way more... cocky I guess. I read a lot of the things he says by the midpoint in the game in a sarcastic/taunting tone, but the guy who's doing him is all matter-of-fact. It's still fine though.

Really I just don't like Atsuru, Yuzu, and Dolly. The problem is they get, like, two-thirds of the lines.

I don't mind the voice actors at all, outside of Midori... but you're supposed to mind her. Yuzu's a bit annoying but that's not because of her voice actor.

In other news, got my DS2 copy in the mail 5 minutes ago, awwwwww yeah.

Midori's voice was always on one side of the extreme. Her lines were either beyond terrible or hilariously awesome
too bad it was mostly the former

the voices for some of the random Yakuza members were really unfitting, I don't think anyone pictured Naoya sounding the way he did and Yuzu was just as annoying as expected

And Michelle Ruff is random female cultist!
