TRAP TOPIC SUCCESS.
topic title is true mind you. I don't know why they're doing finding Nemo and monsters Inc first, but okay. This is an extension of the Apple topic, you mentioned clip mp3s right?

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16855125128&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL020712&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL020712-_-EMC-020712-Index-_-MP3MP4Players-_-55125128-L02B

told you they go on sale regularly. 30 for 4gb, plays mp3 and flac, has a clip, and you can add a microsd card for more storage, effectively making it damn hard to fill up for most as it can take 32gb ones. Just put the promo code in to save 10 more from the 40 price.

Heh, nice trap. Thanks for letting me know, but I already bought it for $40 off Amazon. Now I'm trying to figure out how to make different categories for my music. Something like

Music -> Workout -> Cardio
Music -> Workout -> Lifting
Music -> Video Games -> Chrono Trigger

Shouldn't be too hard, right?

Playlists need to be done manually on the computer, not the device, and can be done with winamp easy. Others should be able to pretty easily too, but you can't make a bunch of Playlists from the device. You can make a go to list though, bunch of songs that works like a playlist. Or there's the 'change firmware to rockbox 'answer. But that's a wee bit more complicated than just doing some 5 steps for a playlist.

Seems a little complicated. I don't understand why simply making a folder titled "workout" under the music or playlist folder (when it's plugged into my computer) doesn't result in that same folder being there when I unplug the player.

alright, home now. there's a couple things you can do:

1) you're fine with your folder idea. just hit up when you enter music on the Sansa and get to the Folder directory. you can find your way through there. follow along to whatever folder you want. if you dump in a folder the folder will be there (this is something that actually wasn't always true but has been for a good while now thankfully - worst case you just upgrade your firmware). this isn't a playlist however is the thing to note. this is just if you're really organized and split things apart enough that it works.

2) making a playlist is really easy, but you just can't do it inside the player on its own. on a computer though? no problems. plug it in, go to your music folder. right click on a folder with music in it, new playlist. now just drag things over to it (either entire folders or music, doesn't matter). you can move things up and down or remove them from the list if you want.

that's probably the easiest way to do it. you can use stuff like winamp too (i don't even know why i have the make playlist option exactly - could be just the way windows 7 works and am too lazy to figure that out if it'd work for you anyway) but there's no worries with this method. everything's straight drag and drop. you could sync it with mediamonkey/winamp/windows media player/whatever else you use probably and get stuff that way too if you want. but yeah, it's all easy stuff. just is a warning that if you wanted to make half a dozen playlists on the road or something, you can't. you can make one playlist (the 'go list' is what this basically is) but that's about it.
