I just ordered Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection from Amazon and been wondering should I get FF1&2 for PSP also or they not-so-good? :>

I think FF Origins is the last version of FF1 that existed before they butchered the challenge into non-existence with Dawn of Souls, and that PSP copies Dawn of Souls, but I'm not confident about that. Someone may want to correct me.

Of course if the games being dirt easy isn't an issue for you there's nothing wrong with a Dawn of Souls type experience for the games (it's not unplayable or anything), I just think that misses the point myself.

Dawn of Souls is fun for the optional dungeons/bosses (some of them are fairly difficult) and better class balancing. Butchering the difficulty otherwise isn't cool but if you're a big ff fan difficulty probably isn't your primary objective anyway.

For FF2 at least, the more modernized the better.

FFII psp is the best version.

FFI not so much. Origins is what you want for the true experience.

Difficulty's an important objective in the early games to me since it's not like they do much else right so I might as well be engaged by them! It's not like FF7 where I can forgive it being easy because it has so much PC customisation, not to mention actual writing.
