I apologize if it's a little disorienting at first being you start in a TOWN type area and there's EXPLORATION right off the bat

Game of the generation is some extreme hyperbole, but if you liked XIII seems like there's no reason to not get XIII-2.

Lol Shine I haven't started the demo yet. I'll probably do that sometime this evening. Good thing you warned me though, I might have thought I was playing the wrong game or something. I'll keep y'all posted about my thoughts on it.

XIII-2 is fun, 4 hours in. Good changes were made, and of course a lot of the same problems like the dialogue still exist, but whatever.

Chapter 7 when Snow saves Hope. Guy literally put his life in jeopardy to save the person who was about to kill him just seconds earlier. Then he carries him all over town despite being injured himself, and when Hope finally does awaken, he gives him back the knife, knowing that Hope could just stab him in the back and get his revenge if he wanted, and Snow doesn't have a problem with that.

There are no words for how much that impressed me. Snow can bellow about being a hero as much as he wants to after that scene. He earned it.

Also the way Snow's hero facade suddenly cracks when Hope finally confronts him in the events right before this.

It was a great scene, and definitely a contributor to why I actually ended up liking Snow. First starting out I didn't care for his attitude at all. Especially during all the stuff at the Hanging Edge and in the Vestige. But as I got to know him he grew on me, and I'd say that scene was probably the turning point.

Just started the demo.
I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but from what I can tell, the battle system is even faster paced than before which is really nice. The Paradigm shifts are quicker too, which is a major plus. I actually kind of like Serah, and I didn't think I would. I think her VA makes a big difference there. Amazing how much a good VA can boost a character's likability.
Still don't like anything about Noel though. Voice, design, weapon, attitude. Just can't get behind this guy.

The music is... weird. I don't know if I like it yet or not. It's tolerable but certainly not as good as FFXIII's. I won't judge the whole monster catching aspect yet as I suspect it's going to take a little getting use to and a little fiddling with to fully enjoy.

Maybe I just wasn't expecting them (even though I new they'd be in the game) but the quick time events caught me off guard. And they really just kind of bugged me. I don't like to have to react during cutscenes. But I'm sure it's something else I would just get use to.

Had to monkey with the camera settings to get it back to the FFXIII default lol. Coming off just beating FFXIII the slight change in controls befuddled me a little bit. Especially the way the new map works in the upper right corner. It's like it's doing the opposite of what I would expect it to do.

Also. I hate Mog. It makes me feel like I'm playing a game for 5 year olds -__-
And Chocolina. Wtf.

Anyway, those are my first impressions. We'll see how it goes!
