Crazy ganks as in the endgame Ilum thing, where Empire would sit outside the Republic base and instagib anyone who came out? Yeah, that only lasted a few days, pretty sure there's no way to spawncamp as easily as before. People were still pissed that there wasn't a rollback over that.
