this game feels so weird

played a bunch with my friend, then did some trials

switching between chain combos and links in the same combo feels really awkward still, but i think i'm getting the timing down.

they nerfed cammy's dive kick so much though augh

interesting comment I saw on SRK (from a 3S player):

SFxT... eh, it's growing on me. It definitely doesn't feel as sluggish as SSF4 did to me, and at the very least, there's no FADC shenanigans. The one thing that's bothering me is how easy it is to run away in the game. So far, I've heard talk about getting your damage in and just turtling it out. Strategy is strategy, but eh. At the very least, running Abel/Ken is so r*******.

I agree with this I think. Still too early to know for sure. But in the games I played today if I had a decent life lead it was pretty easy to just lame it out.

just played some 3S custom matches with people on my buddy list who I met on ranked

did first to 3 against Yun and first to 10 against Chun

went 3-2 against Yun and 9-1 against Chun. take that, top tier!

I like that anti-air is weaker in this game. DPs getting beat by jump ins is something to behold.

I played some SFxT with a friend today. Man that timer is harsh, half the matches were time outs I feel.

Also oh god sitting back and using uppercuts and such as anti-air is not the best strategy in this game.

the sound is something else

people are comparing it to GGPO but with GGPO when you roll back the sound plays but the animation doesn't. so if you're hit confirming off of sound you have a rough life. this business with SFxT where you just don't hear sound effects for like 10 seconds is so weird.

throw ranges are short in this game

still need to figure out what to do against someone who's just blocking. so far when my buddy tries to mix me up I can react to most of them on time and just block correctly. If I'm sitting on a good life lead and start playing defensive around the 30 second mark it's tough to lose!

that's the thing with this game. the timer is short but you can get off some big combos and damage pretty easily with a couple wrong guesses from the other guy. so you knock him with a couple of those and by then the timer is almost up and you turtle your ass off.

I'm playing on a CRT where half the screen is purple sometimes because my 360 -> VGA cable makes things look ugly on my LCD. we all got issues! think I should've bought an Evo monitor.

grapplers were a lot more manageable today. played an assortment of Ryu/Ken/Chun/Lili teams and he was much easier to deal with. but man if he gets in it's trouble.

anyone got any thoughts about Guile yet? my friend played him some today and it went pretty well for him.

cl.hk jump cancel into dive kick feels so good

my connection is never ideal but usually it's playable. IIRC Nee is from New York and we can manage a just barely playable connection in 3S and SSF4 with occasional lag spikes.

oddly, I get a lot of decent connections to Japan in 3S when they're all playing at night. half of them don't play me because why would they take a yellow connection over the bunches of green connections they have right next to them, but the other half do and it ain't bad!

what I'm saying Weaku is that maybe you should move to Japan and we'll do awesome.
