I actually just saw a Soul Train special on VH1 a couple weeks ago. He kept that show alive for decades and gracefully left when he knew he wasn't keeping up with new music as well as someone younger could.

Don Cornelius, the producer and television host who created the dance show Soul Train, was found shot dead in his Los Angeles home early Wednesday morning in what appears to be a suicide, the Los Angeles Police Department and the county coroners office said. He was 75 years old.
How sad!

Not really. A lot of old folks become suicidal. When your body shuts down and you're in near constant pain or extremely dependent on painkillers, there doesn't remain much to live for. Not that this is necessarily what was going on with him, just saying.
