Japanese trailer shows brief gameplay, has more footage in general because no stupid "ONE MAN MUST SAVE THE WORLD" black screen stuff, plays to some anime-type tropes
American trailer has more fitting music and plays to all the expected medieval tropes

I watched the American trailer all the way through and then literally laughed out loud when the cheesy music kicked in in the Japanese version. Not that the other music isn't also cheesy, but cheesy in a different tone I guess. The mood whiplash was funny. <_<

BlAcK TuRtLe grabbed the Guru victory, slow but steady.

I liked the American trailer better. If nothing else, you can hear the dialogue that sets up the story and is supposed to make you interested in the game better, because there's not some awful rock singer wailing over it. Though I did like the added gameplay footage. The US trailer I don't think had ANY gameplay, just cutscenes.

Combat seemed pretty similar to Monster Hunter stuff but with more abilities.

I had literally never heard of this game before this topic. It looks pretty awesome, but the US trailer was worse. There was almost no gameplay and it was much more like a movie trailer. At least the Japanese one felt like a video game instead of a movie...and I didn't even know the B'z were still making music, lol.

US trailer was better.

The Japanese trailer showed gameplay, yeah... But it was in like, half second snippits that didn't really give much of an idea. And that doesn't make up for the fact that the blaring music made it too hard to hear anything to even get an idea of what the game was about.

neither of these trailers makes me all that interested in the game. it makes sense for japan and the US to get completely different trailers to appeal to the different audiences though, especially considering this is supposedly the biggest project capcom has ever done.

Ignoring the background music, I thought the Japanese trailer was better. It showed more of what you can expect in the game, which I think builds more hype and anticipation.

I watched the US trailer first, and it didn't tell me nearly as much about the game.
