All these streaming sites are bombarding me with ads and I cant figure out how to make them stop.

adblock plus. got newest version(With uninstall/reinstall of the program, filters, everything), didnt work.

That's weird. I've never really had to muck around with it at all to get it to work. It just works. In fact I think a recent update made it work even better. I'm quite happy with it.

I'm sorry I can't help you with this. Hopefully someone else knows more about it.

For me I usually start seeing ads after a few months, so I just resubscribe to the latest easylist filter and it all works

In Adblock Plus, a new feature was recently added that includes some exceptions for ads that will be displayed. In your preferences, you can disable these exceptions by looking under the "Filter subscriptions" tab and unchecking the box that says "Allow some non-intrusive advertising". It might actually fix your problem.

i seem to have gotten the ads i wanted blocked with my own filter rule. How irritating.

Newest version of Firefox is not bad at all. I actually love it. And I usually hate change.

That might be part of why adblock wasn't working then. I had that happen to me before, where I was using an old version of firefox, then updated adblock, and it broke. I think the newest version of adblock is just meant to be compatible with the newest of firefox, and not necessarily improve anything to the old version (because what could really change aside from the ad lists you subscribe to).
