Paratroopa1 01/31/12 2:22:00 PM #10:	A brief update on our team for those who are curious: Our Highlander team is now known as A Tin Team, named for the Aurochs' runner-up finish in the Tin division in season 3. Comically, I'm the only one from that team who remains a 100% full-time starter (engi) - Dino is still our de facto leader but has scheduling conflicts on match days, Silver still plays scout frequently but I haven't seen him in the last couple of matches either, Foolmo remains a frequent contributor and did play last match on heavy. The four of us are the only B8ers on the roster currently - not that I'm necessarily spurning anyone else, I'm just going by a quick glance at our team's page as it stands right now. We started a new season recently so things got overhauled a bit. Tin Team finished in the highest division in UGC last season as the 9-seed in the 16 team platinum division, and we played 8th-seeded BRB, Uninstalling to a 5-3 nailbiter on Granary that we unfortunately lost. We're still in Platinum in the current season and we won our preseason and week 1 matches to start 1-0. Paratroopa1 01/31/12 2:55:00 PM #13:	I sometimes feel sort of bad that the B8 Aurochs went from a B8-only team to sort of its own separate entity that a few B8ers happen to be central contributors of. The B8 thing, at least at the time, just wasn't really sustainable since there were only so many available players to draw from (9 people is a LOT of people to round up for a match every week, it turns out), and as we started grabbing players from other teams and communities to plug holes that we needed, our team started to develop a really strong nucelus with those guys and we wound up building ourselves into a more serious, high-level highlander team (albeit one that still doesn't take itself that seriously). The B8 Aurochs team was fun but I don't think we could keep it going as a solely B8 entity for longer than a season, and the team it has developed into now is one with a strong identity all of its own and something I'm very proud to be a part of, the only unfortunate part being that we're playing on such a high level now that it sort of shuts out a lot of people. This, of course, shouldn't stop you from trying to get a new B8 team together! Competitive TF2, even on just a PUG or lobby level, is an absolute blast, and it's where TF2 really comes together as an amazing game in my opinion. Highlander in particular continues to be friendly to all levels of play - the major hurdle to overcome, in my opinion, is just getting together a full team of people who can and want to play regularly. 6v6's easier but tends to be very soldier/demo/scout-centric. <cite>Paratroopa1 posted [p:730695] in TF2 Offici... We picked up a few guys with a lot of 6v6 experience, whether they're carrying us or not is up to debate (imo I'm carrying the team with my optimism and ability to actually get people talking strat). We're also probably the only team with a leader who can't make matches, but I make it a point to watch every scrim we do, and to give strat and advice to the team!
