.. Yeah, I know 360 and PS3 have been around for 6-7 years, but I've been too busy playing PS2!(and being too poor to afford those two systems, though I've had a Wii since '08)
So I've missed quite a lot. My questions are:
What are "THE" JRPGS to get for PS3?(or 360 if xbxox has rpgs) FFXIII? Star Ocean 4? Tales of Vesperia? Is Valkyria Chronicles a SRPG?
How are these action games: Vanquish, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Heavenly Sword? Could someone recommend games similar to those?
Best exclusives for each system? I prefer RPGs, Action/Adventure, Fighting though I think I'll play anything almost.
Bayonetta's great. One could take some issue with some of its stylistic choices (and I do) but it's still a legitimately awesome action game.
Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are both somewhat notable for 360 RPGs. Blue Dragon's a lot like an updated FF5 (with a few of its own quirks) and is decent enough. Haven't gotten around to playing LO, though I like it. You've named most of the other really famous RPGs at least. (VC is of course PS3-exclusive.)

Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are two of my favorite JRPGs this gen, both on the 360. People will probably recommend Vesperia, but I couldn't get into that one. Half-Minute Hero on XBLA is a must.
Yakuza 3/4 are worth checking out on the PS3. Uncharted and Assassin's Creed, too.
Street Fighter IV the best fighting game.

Vesperia is as good as RPGs get as far as 360/PS3 is concerned. Graces comes out on PS3 soon though, but I don't know about its quality (I own an import copy of the Wii version, but the fan translation got cancelled when PS3 localization was announced -_-)
Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are must have action adventure games. I don't think it particularly matters which system you get them for, but they're both amazing games.

Tales of Vesperia is the best JRPG of this generation that's been released in the US so far. For PS3, Valkyria Chronicles is a SRPG but it's the best on the system. Might as well try FF13 to see if you like it. I'll also recommend Atelier Totori and Disgaea 4.

If you like Action/Adventure make sure to get Uncharted 1-3 for PS3. They're THE adventure games for this gen.
Vesperia on 360 is the best JRPG on consoles this gen but really handhelds have been better for those. Demon's Souls/Dark Souls are also really good but those are more similar to WRPGs.
