Still not really pleased with the ending all that much. I guess it was better than the episodes but that isn't really saying much.
Shinji was so frustrating the last little bit. For 80% of the series he was amazing, but in the first couple he was annoying and in the last bit he was insanely frustrating to listen to and left a bad taste in my mouth. He was insane.
Asuka I didn't mind.. Until the end when she goes all psycho and whatnot. The scene in one of the last episodes (I think the third or fourth to last?) when the angel is going into her mind is one of the most nerve racking scenes/sequences I have ever watched in any show, anime or whatever. I was screaming for someone (specifically Shinji) to help her.
Rei is the character who clearly changes the least throughout the show and strangely that is why I like her maybe the most. I don't think I 100% understand what/who exactly she was but I think I understood most of it.
Katsuragi is probably my favorite character in the show. She just seemed to me to be the most real and had the most real world problems. Whatever that means.
Ritsuko I didn't mind either overall and like the way she ended although she failed somewhat.
Commander Ikari I liked for what he was. Mysterious boss/father character who got what was coming to him in the end.

Overall still quite good. What other animes can you all recommend. I've only watched Cowboy Bebop and now this. Definitely enjoyed Cowboy Bebop a lot more but still liked watching this a good amount.
