The 60$ I spent on an incredibly inferior version.

Less then 1 week after Ultimate was announced, I tried to trade the original in.
$6.25. store credit

Keep in mind Ultimate was announced maybe 4 months after the original came out.

That's your own damn fault for trading games in instead of selling them on ebay or craigslist. I got $30 for my vanilla version, meaning I got 12 new characters for less than a dollar each.

I didn't trade it in.

I kept, and still have it.

I'm just saying it's stupid to complain about gamestop trade in prices when everyone knows they rip you off and it's so easy to get 4x the money from somewhere else.

It's the first time they had done it with the Marvel vs series though.

Starting way back with Children of the Atom all the way to Marvel vs Capcom 2 (which is 6 games) they never came out with an updated version of any of them until MvC 3.

Poor argument for two reasons.

1) Marvel has never gotten the "Super" treatment in its history.

2) They promised massive DLC support for vanilla, which ended up amounting to one costume pack. So we were lied to.

You act like finding someone willing to pay $30 for a game that would be rendered obsolete would be easy.

It takes a special type of idiot to pay $30 for MvC3 after Ultimate was announced.

Its not the fact that they released Ultimate, its that they did it SO close to the original.

There were 9 months in between the two releases.

Also SF2 was in a time before DLC, so it makes sense they released a new version. If they could've at least released it as a DLC option for those who bought the original for say, 30$ instead of 40$, then at least I could've felt somewhat decent about my original purchase.

It's like you're new to Capcom.

They release terribly unfinished games all the time and then release "better" versions a couple months after.

and you terrible people EAT IT UP

they basically killed the SF2 arcade scene by releasing SSF2, with plains of SSF2T in the works. they have been doing this forever, there's just less excuse now.

I paid $30 for MVC3 when Ultimate was announced...

Then returned it to Gamestop a week later and got my money back.
