Isn't Happy Endings that Friends knockoff?

Except in Chicago and no laugh track. And the cast chemistry is different enough for it to not be a knockoff. There are definitely similarities, but considering how great Friends is, that shouldn't be considered a bad thing.

I actually had a ranking topic before but no one posted in it.

Max > Brad > Penny > Jane > Dave > Alex

At least I think that's how I rank them. Max and Brad are definitely the best. The rest are all about the same level of great.

I think I'd put Jane above Penny.

And Alex seems to have gotten worse and more ditsy as the show goes on. I'm not liking that.

I could accept Jane over Penny. I'm not exactly sure which one I like more.

I wouldn't say Alex has gotten worse, just more defined as a character. She's become more of a Britta honestly, but like... actually funny.

Normally I would find the dumbing down of a character to be a bad thing, but it just works so well with Alex. She wasn't that great in Season 1, but I've been loving her now in Season 2.

My rankings now would be:

Max > Penny > Brad > Alex > Jane > Dave

I think everyone can agree that Max is the best.

also Alex's failed attempts at puns/jokes are some of my favorite moments in the show

the only character who doesn't consistently make me laugh is Dave.

there are like 3-5 comedies on the level of Community and Happy Endings is not one of them

I watched the first minute of an episode recently and wanted to stab my eyes out. There are some shows that should be canceled. Happy Endings is one of them.
