Motives behind SOPA?
Hmm... Money.
You see, Hollywood hates the internet because they're haters of technology that's good for individuals. (See VHS- they hated that. They embraced DVDs because they were hard to work with by individuals to begin with, however.) So they give large sums of money to people who'll fight technology. Money wins elections. Winning elections keeps politicians in office. Staying in office keeps the money coming. The politicians win. We lose. That's the motive behind SOPA.

Boot every supporter of the act from office- they're not upholding the constitution, they're traitorous scum.

agree with XIII_Rocks

I rarely ever find articles on the internet where the comments are actually worth reading for any reason other than to laugh at how dumb people are

Good article, but even more intrigued by the comments. Speaks volumes that one of SOPA's few supporters there generalized the anti-SOPA crowd as "geeks".

Though I like this one: "What I am against is a 'solution' to a problem that is far, far worse than the problem itself."

This for once is more about the corrupt corporations than the corrupt government. They clearly lobbied millions of dollars to get these bills passed.

Well, this would actually be more about corrupt government. In this case, the corporation would just be doing what it thinks serves its best interest, the government would be corrupt for accepting such bribes.
