Made a topic about the gamecube face buttons being amazing because of how precise they are, though it (expectedly) turned into discussion of other things besides pressure sensitivity.
So, do you prefer really precise face buttons like on a GCN controller? Or something more like the Dualshock/360 controller buttons?
Feel free to discuss this in regards to shoulder buttons and DPads, too.

Well on my arcade sticks I don't like them too be too sensitive but I like them at least semi-sensitive. I just hate it when like a roundhouse or something comes out randomly because I brushed against that button.
Pressure sensitive buttons sounds not horrible, but I cant think of a single game where it was used well. Mostly it ends up being like Ace Combat 5 or Need for Speed: HP2 where you just have to hold the button down really hard or you won't go full speed.
In almost every instance buttons are used as an on/off thing, so they should read input that way as well.
I thought the 360 pad was pressure sensitive, idk, if it isn't then I prefer digital, really don't like sony's controllers. honestly the boomerang might not have been such a bad idea

Wtf what uses this
MGS uses it to decide between firing a gun and lowering it (slowly release square and you will lower, quickly release and you will fire). Also it uses shoulder button pressure to decide how far to shift left/right when in first person mode. I think there's other stuff too.
The latest Ace Combat for the PS3 uses the L1/R1 buttons for accelerate/decelerate, and the strength depends on how hard you press the buttons. Since 360's shoulder buttons aren't analog, they have to use the triggers for the same thing.

When holding hostages in MGS3. if you push the button firmly you slit their throats. My Snake has severe case of butterfingers with hostages, unfortunately for them.
The next time you want to make a joke, just assume it won't be funny and don't bother.
I make as many unfunny jokes as I frickin want, thank you very much.
