I get ideas in my head about things I could do for YouTube videos, little comedy skits or something. The thing is, beyond a concept and maybe a theme song, I don't know a thing about comedy writing. (I can do pretentious writing, I do have a BA in political science, but scripting and such? Nothing.) This leads to a lot of forgotten, abandoned concepts.
This last idea I've had I've just fallen in love with, but since I want to do it right, I want to take a comedy writing class. Where do you find those? Second City used to have a thing in Cleveland, but they're gone. Where else?
to be honest, if you thought your idea was good and funny i would give it a fair chance. Sooo... if you feel like putting something together i would give it an unbiased watch. Not that i have any reason to be biased.
You're never going to be perfect your first time doing it, so just go with the idea in your head and give it a shot. If it doesn't turn out so well, who gives a f***? It was your first try. Figure out what needs to be worked out and do it better the second time.
As long as you show improvement with each video, you'll be doing fine.

It's sketch, though, and that requires a lot of resources I don't have on hand right now (actors, costumes, a pirate ship). Plus there's the whole scripting thing. That's what I need to work on first, so that's why I'm asking about classes and such.
