What if there was a girl you were interested in, and knew you could make her your girlfriend. Only problem is, you know for a fact she has oral herpes, because you've seen it at least once on her. Would you still seek a relationship with her?
But you can find ways to prevent it. But it might be a hassle, and you might get paranoid all the time that you'll contract it even if it's not on her face.
Ok, and now to take this question to a whole new level, what if you were already dating a girl, for months or maybe even a year, and then you realize she has oral herpes? It doesn't mean she was cheating, because I saw a girl have a herpe, and then never saw one again for over a year, so it can just lay and wait. But would you actually end the relationship over that?
But answer both questions, on whether you would either start one, and whether you'd end an existing one.
I wasn't sure if I was doing right by not pursuing a relationship. But these answers are helping my results. It would seem unfortunate to dodge herpe kisses for long periods of time. But then again, you never know with most girls. I just happen to in this case.
I've never gotten a cold sore in my life. I would not date a guy I knew got cold sores. Those things are kind of gross. I probably wouldn't leave a guy I was dating for a year over them but I imagine I'd be a lot more stingy with the smooches... knowing he had cold sores. Because those things are kind of gross.

I've come to the realization that I need a sig.
I wonder if I'm immune to herpes? There are some friends of mine who have invited me over to dinners before over the years, and various times, I've noticed different people in that group of herpes, and it made me nervous having to eat around them. But then I never ended up getting herpes. I could be unable to acquire them perhaps.
Iv been with my girlfriend for over 4 years, and she got a cold sore about 6 months in (she's been getting them since she was about 15). I just avoid kisses when she has one, and when she doesn't have one everything goes as normal.
I have never developed a cold sore during these 4 years, everyone who says they would keep clear is just a douche.
Warning If you do date a girl who gets cold sores, don't let her go down on you when she has, or has recently had one, as you are asking for herpes. I assume people know this already...

Velcro - what a rip off. Congrats SuperNiceDog, Oracle Team Mate and Guru Champ!
I guess it depends on how often she gets an outbreak. I'm pretty sure (like I would wager a good amount of people) have been infected since like ...really young, but I don't get them often enough to make me think about my sexual activity or anything.
I get Cold sores once a year (reliably every october, thanks body), and its never been a problem, just no kisses that month.

Yeah, if the girl is really cool. I've got a bunch of friends who have oral herpes and they don't seem to live a terrible life because of it so it must'nt be a big deal.

Or how to spot someone who has actually kissed a girl
kevwaffles posted... ITT: People think direct contact is the only way to spread cold sores.
What are some other ways that they can be spread then?
And for anyone wondering what I did with the girl now since I made this topic, I didn't do anything. I've started to push her away a little bit. Making sure she stays friend-zoned.
