Is it just me or does calling Marvel's tournament results random and inconsistent show complete lack of knowledge in what the f*** you're talking about, it's been the same 10-12 people in top 8s almost all year

and is it just me or is talking s*** like that in a tournament where you really tried to reach out to that community a really bad idea, especially when they made you the most stream money

Same is true of Melee (specifically grabs). This involves two people grabbing on exactly the same frame, though, and I have been told is not a big issue....

It's not that big of an issue AFAIK. I don't recall a moment where anything's been decided by priority because Smash isn't life-based.

It's not that big of an issue AFAIK. I don't recall a moment where anything's been decided by priority because Smash isn't life-based.


Priority is extremely important in smash. Higher priority moves hit through lower priority moves. Equal or similar priority moves "clash" (unless they are grabs, in which case whichever one was used first hits. And if it's a tie then the controller order thing comes up).

I can easily see it being relevant in Brawl. Say you have Dedede vs Dedede, they each have an infinite chain grab on each other. They both go for the grab at the same time. Controller order wins, someone loses a stock.

Identical time grabs really should clash the way most other equal-priority moves clash if they are even similarly timed.

I'm definitely willing to believe high level players when they tell me that it's not a big deal. I imagine it comes up about once per tournament (how often do you have both players going for a grab while in range of each other? And of those moments, how many of them have frame-identical timing?) But yeah, it's a flaw.
