Look at this. This is disgusting.

The two issues at play here:

1. Israel is using American tax dollars to train sushi chefs, at a time when the US is in a financial crisis and making drastic cuts.

2. Institutionalized racism. Israelis like sushi, but they hate Asian people. Solution? An government program to replace Asian chefs with White people.

I thought this topic would be interesting and about the Israel-Middle East situation but it is actually really dumb

While it's definitely wasteful, I'm sure you could find a number of other comically wasteful uses of tax dollars here in the US too, not something to get bent out of shape at the entire country over.

Honestly, sushi is one of my favorite foods now, and if I choose to vacation in the Middle East, I'd like to be assured that at least one country there can prepare competent sushi.

I didn't support Isreal before, but I quite enjoy sushi and think more highly of them now after reading this topic.

as someone who doesn't support Israel, i'm sure there are plenty of valid reasons for supporting isreal.

This isn't an issue of competency. I'm sure that Japanese-Israelis with years of experience would make much better sushi chefs than white soldiers.

While there are a number of greivances one could legitimately have against Israel, you've highlighted:

• Israel training their veterans so that they don't leave the army and have nothing to do and be forced to live on benefits.
• Israel trying to lower the amount of immigrants entering the country to take jobs.
• America gives Israel money.
