On that survey Ulti posted a few days ago he was tied with Ron Paul as the one whose views I most agreed with. I hadn't heard of him at all before, though I've barely followed the Republican campaigns

Being that the primaries are upon us, I'm just curious as to what B8 thinks about Jon Huntsman as the Republican nominee. As a gay Republican, it's difficult for me to find a candidate whose social views I can live with, but Huntsman seems to be talking a good game:

I know B8 is predominantly Democrat, but what do you guys think about some of his other policies? Here's a link to his wiki for quick reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Huntsman,_Jr.

He's served under a lot of administrations and I like that he's got plenty of experience. But he is right of center and not really far right, and being extreme is usually what wins nominations.

I'm not all that into politics, but I believe in making my vote count. I want to be sure I vote for the person that I think will truly represent my beliefs, even if they don't end up winning. So I'm interested in hearing some opinions on this fellow.

And as a fun side note, candidates I will absolutely not vote for in the primary include Bachmann and Santorum. C'mon, why can't we get a decent female candidate up in here!?

Yeah, Huntsman is one of the least repugnant candidates, so he'll lose.

He probably does not have a real chance, he is barely on the radar. He seems to have put all his eggs into one basket, new hampshire, so if he doesn't have a really strong showing there, he probably will drop out.

Huntsman seems normal, and he is a great deal less crazy than everyone else, but his financial plans make me want to wash his mouth out with soap.

WARNING: Very scary caricature of Jon Huntsman ahead!

He has zero chance of being in the race for more than another month.

Huntsman has great ideas but he hasn't had a lot of luck in appealing to crazy republicans, which gets you the nomination.

Probably not. But if Romney wins the nomination and then becomes president, I could see him being selected for Secretary of State.

He doesn't have a chance but I'll still be voting for him tonight.
