The series really has been going backwards in the past 10 years but the level design here is really top notch, in both 2D and 3D. Some great nostalgia to boot but the new content itself easily stands on its own.

Favourite acts/battles were probably

Planet Wisp Act 1
City Escape Act 2 (that truck....)
Chemical Plant Act 1
Rooftop Run Act 1
Battle with Shadow

Great game.

Absolutely horrible rankings.

The best stages are

Chemical Plant Act 2
Sky Sanctuary Act 1 + 2
Speed Highway Act 2
Seaside Hill Act 2
Crisis City Act 1

...something like that. It's all about which stages you can play 50 times and still find more advanced paths. This is probably the first Sonic game worth speedrunning since the Dreamcast games.
