I've had the Collection sitting on my shelf collecting dust for almost ten years now, and I just need someone to convince me that the series is worth playing through.

I remember playing Twilight of the Spirits, or whatever it was called. It was pretty good.

This is easily one of my favorite series.

The first game can literally beaten in one sitting if you skip the tower (you shouldn't do that).

And the second game is f***ing phenomenal (and takes forever to finish).

The third is a good game but I just didn't get that into it.

Twilight of the Spirits is also really great and can be bough quite cheaply.

Stay away from End of Darkness.

Stay so far away.

Can you describe the experience to me? I'm really looking for something unique, but not necessarily dense. Basically, I am hoping that this is like Suikoden.

It's not like Suikoden. It's a pretty unique RPG, it's very fun stuff. I mean, why not just pop it in?

That said, I've only played the first one for some reason.

I meant "like Suikoden" in the sense that the story and characters may not be that intriguing, but the atmosphere and "charm" make it memorable.

The atmosphere is pretty memorable to me.

First of all, you know it is a strategy RPG right?

It has a pretty smooth battle system and the characters are great.

It's one of those games though that your experience will vary greatly since you are playing it like 15 years too late.

If you like old, short, and charming RPGs, the first one will be perfect.

The second one is more involved and not as charming but is probably the superior game.

the ps1 collection is great. Run real fast through arc the lad 1, as its not a very good game compared to the rest of them. But 2, 3, and the PS2 arc the lads are real fun. Especially arc 2.
