I'm hanging in there, if barely, so far on day 8 with no mentality of giving up. It hurts, its exhausting, but I'm hanging in there. Anybody here get through this routine?

I did Insanity over the summer. Yeah it's absolutely brutal, but it was worth it. I went from a pooch to pretty noticeable abs, and I cut all the garbage food out of my diet and went low fat high protein and felt SO much better in general about 3 weeks in. Month 2 is a b****, and watch out for calf injuries early on; for some reason calves seem to get devastated at the beginning of this.

I also actually bought the system, and used that as motivation to get through it. The hell I was wasting $150. Whatever your motivation is, keep it going. I also <3 Shaun T for not yelling at me like I'm supposed to be a super-athlete, and instead recognizing we're normal people. He really makes that system worth it.

Yeah he's very motivational - I caught few videos of the P90x guy, but he doesn't seem to have the same motivational energy. I could be wrong on that as I only checked about 1-2 mins of those vids.

Focusing on this for now, so far the only thing I seem to struggle with in terms of muscle fatigue are my thighs. My calf muscles aren't in pain at all, but hollllllyyy crap do my thighs and smaller muscles around my knees (muscles, not the joints/ligaments in my knee or anything) are going through hell.

Started taking some protein shake supplement thing called Carnivore after the workout to recover torn muscle fibers, but damn, stuff is pretty nasty.

Yeah the P90X guy seems like he wouldn't get me through much of that. Shaun actually pulled me through some workouts and was just great. I used Jack3d as my pre-workout, then _____-super protein and Cell Tech. Thighs take a beating too. Even before this I had really strong legs for someone of my overall size, and my thighs would just be killed anyway. It's also weird that in month 1, Pure Cardio is the hardest workout, than in month 2 Max Cardio is the easiest (still brutal as hell though). Also if you ever feel like it after a session, do Cardio Abs just to do it. Throwing in an extra ab workout here and there is helpful, and it's short and doesn't tire you out or anything.

That's a pretty good idea, I'll consider doing so on the next workout. For me, cardio power and resistance is the one that murders me the most. All the jumping and squats demolish my already fatigued thighs, which creates even more fatigue overall.

Pure Cardio seems to branch off their routines fairly well to not focus too much on one section of muscles, so I don't get fatigue as easily. Still very daunting though

never done insanity or p90x or anything but this is similar to what I do, main strength routine monday, wednesday, and friday, and I do at least some core exercises six days a week going heavier on them tuesday, thursday, and saturday. seems to recover pretty quickly and it's a great area to focus on whether your goals are aesthetic or functional

Indeed, it does seem logical, plus the calendar in this routine has it set after a few exercises anyway. I'm not drop dead out of shape, so I should be able to handle an extra cardio ab routine every other day (don't want to risk over training). Thanks for the heads up and the discussion guys; I'm off to get some rest now. Take care!
