If it stays like this yeah but there have been close matches, Fable Team fortress was close, Frog and that other guy forgot his name was close. Samus/Tifa was also pretty close.

Not the closest, and considering this is the 2nd last match the vote count is pretty bad actually. These contests use to easily have 2-3 times this amount of votes.

It was like 49.89-50.11 I believe.

It depends what close means.If you go by percentages then yeah.But if you know about contests you can understand things.For example Dante/Sora was really close,Dante even had the lead for a while but everyone knew that Sora would win.Same with Squall/Sora,Squall was leading,Sora started cutting but people knew that Squall would won.

They would just keep the match up until the character they wanted was winning. At least that's how Ceej did it back in the good ol' days.

In 2002 Sonic was leading Samus at the votal freeze, the match was left up longer than it was supposed to and closed once Samus had taken the lead. Good ol Cjay.

There have been some matches where the lead was really low.Here the lead was 989 at some point.The record is Shadow of the Colossus versus Metal Gear Solid 2,where the lead was 188 the highest.
