Yeah, I just don't see the point in having these contests if everyone is so caught up with these old ass games that many of them have probably never even played. Hive mind at its finest I guess.

I grew up on most of these "classics" but I still wouldn't consider these rivalries to be the best. Link and Ganon? What? You mean that dude you kill to get Zelda? That's a legendary rivalry? Could'a fooled me, I seriously never even paid that much attention to the dude, he's no more special than any other generic end boss.

I mean, where is Riou and Jowy from Suikoden 2? How much better of a rivalry *exists* on that console, or any console for that matter?

I picked it. It was my first contest, I also had Vincent's run perfect. I didn't base anything off stats. I never heard of Magus at that time, and I loved Knuckles, so I figured he was the obvious choice.

It was my first real contest too, actually (not counting Villains). I actually did pick Knuckles > Magus, not really knowing much of anything, then I posted a "rate my bracket" topic and everybody laughed at me for it and I changed it =(

That said I don't think I'd change that match even if I had a time machine. It's one of the best results in the history of the site, and I love the idea of no Oracle or Guru brackets having picked it. I wouldn't want to soil that.
