Overall I liked it. Be sure to topic it when you have the completed version. A harmonica seems like it could completely change the texture of the song. I do like how it sounds now though.

Nah, to be serious, it's good. I really only have one criterion when it comes to judging music in any genre and that is, if it doesn't make me "feel" anything, I think it's crap. I either have to be moved by it, or I have to be able to feel that the person singing it is actually feeling it in order to appreciate it... and I'm definitely getting both from this track.
So yeah, the song makes me melancholic and now I'm in a mood I really didn't want to be in, thanks for that.

did you do the vocals all in one take or something? I don't dislike them or anything and the melodies themselves are pretty interesting but there are parts of the song where your voice sounds a bit weaker and I'm wondering if that might be the cause. should be interesting to hear the final version.
Yep! It's a one take (even recorded guitar and vocals at the same time). Obviously when I'm going to record the real version I'll be doing various ones!
yeah that's what I figured. you have a pretty good voice and I think if you use the magic of recording/editing it will come out really good for the final version.
