Also Xenoblade has a far better story/characters than TOS. As much as I love ToS, Xenoblade is better. Actually, it's the best RPG of the generation and that's nothing to do with the fact that it's on the Wii. And while ToS was closer to a "traditional" JRPG, Xenoblade mixes elements of JRPGs, WRPGs, and MMOs. It's kind of like a love letter to the entire genre. But yeah, the only real ToS similarity is the fact that it's an RPG on a Nintendo console. It's possible there could be something I like in it, but from what I have seen I know I'm not fond of the voice acting or battle system. Set the voices to Japanese. Problem solved. And the battle system is impossible to hate, regardless of whether you prefer turn-based or real-time battles. I don't really care about quests or exploration in RPGs either. Dumb complaint, since that's optional and unlike most WRPGs, Xenoblade has a great and lengthy main plot as well as all the sandbox stuff. I can't imagine anyone wouldn't want to explore a world as beautifully designed as Xenoblade's, though. -- Signature change in progress... Generally I feel like the highest praise is being heaped on the game by the types of people who don't care about RPG battle systems... not a good sign! I'll probably play the game when it finally comes out here, but I'm not terribly optimistic as it sounds like a mix of things (FF12, exploration) that I don't really care for, plus I really hated the most recent Xeno game (although mercifully it sounds like the two don't have much in common).
