Mr. Scratch being the villain should be fun. It'll be nice to have some clarification of that aspect of the first game.

This reminds me that I really should finish the first game. I got a little ways into it - I'm at, like, some logging camp or something - and then I just got really intensely bored with the "shine a flashlight on a dude and then shoot him" gameplay.

The atmosphere was wonderful, though.

The gameplay never really changes from that, but I still had fun with it. I loved the atmosphere and the story.

I beat it by playing an episode a night for like a week. That spaced it out enough that it didn't feel too repetitive.

"It’ll be based in the Arizona/Route 66 area and takes place in an episode of “Night Springs”, the fictional TV show Wake used to write for. The feel of the game will be more similar to Quentin Tarantino’s From Dusk Till Dawn. It will also take many hours to complete and a new Arcade mode entitled “Fight Till Dawn” which has you fighting waves and waves of enemies. This will also not be the last of Alan Wake, further confirming this is a new adventure and not Alan Wake 2. All of this sounds spine-chilling and will keep your fingers quivering as it releases early next year."
