The first half of the exam, I was breathing like a moose. However, halfway through I started running into problems, both with the questions and my nasal congestion. I felt that the more I had become anxious with the questions, the more I felt my nose started to block.

About 20 minutes before the exam, my nose was literally leaking like a faucet. I couldn't sniff, not even slightly, because my nose had literally no airflow whatsoever. Any slight sniff and my nose would've sounded like a vacuum cleaner inside a room with 150 people.

So I had to lean down on my elbow and covertly use my t-shirt/coat to rub my nose. But as the seconds ticked by, the mucus just wouldn't stop dripping out. My t-shirt/coat was already soaked and by this time, the mucus was dripping down into my mouth. I had no choice but to try to sip the mucus into my mouth. Needless to say, that barely helped at all.

Finally, I couldn't take it anymore and just decided to take the hit. I literally couldn't concentrate at all and finishing the remaining portions of my exam were a lost cause. I stood up, handed in a mucus drenched exam paper to the invigilator and promptly left the room in shame.

Never before have I experienced a more pathetic and disgruntling exam experience. The slightly good news is, I'm in 4th year now, so the imminent abhorrent mark from this course will cause my CGPA to fall minimally.

That being said, I have another exam in half an hour. I'm going to sit at the back of the room so I can freely wipe myself without fear. God I hate my nose.

Its very easy to connect with your experience. It definitely has the quality of a nightmare.

However usually I just hold my nose and try to blow through it. The pressure loosens up the cavity and lets you get a few sniffs in.
