First off, a big round of applause for Angie, Menji, jose, and Colegreen, our tireless workers who helped me enter our brackets this season. All in all we gathered an impressive 220+ entrants for this season- a little down from our record of 250 for Game of the Decade, but still a great number considering the subject matter!
As for the features on the site, you're probably used to most of them by now, but here's a brief overview in case you want to refresh.
* click any user's name anywhere on the site to see their full bracket
* you can re-sort the main page by score (default), TB, risks, their pick in the current match, Dead/Alive status, or alphabetically (click the headers to do this)
* currently "Today's Pick" is pointing to Match 8, Subby vs Leon. if you'd rather see everyone's pick for the next match, change the dropdown to "9" and hit the button... or 63 to see their Finals pick, or anything else you want
* any pick anywhere on the site that goes against the Guru Cookie is rewarded with red text (red for "risky")
* speaking of which, the Guru Cookie is a bracket that makes the most "popular" choice for every matchup, based on all 220+ brackets. it's listed in the rankings as though it's an actual person, but that's just for fun (it doesn't actually cost you a position on the ranks if you're currently behind it)
But surely the most popular feature of all are those Guru Stats! You can check them at any time by clicking "Matchup Stats" on top, which takes you to
Here we have the listing of every match along with how many brackets picked each possible winner.
* the handy color coded text on the left of this page reminds you whether that poll will be a Day Match, Night Match, or 24 hour poll
* click the "Who Picked Whom" button to see the complete listing of what users selected each winner in their brackets
* you can also get to this Who Picked Whom listing by clicking the "+" next to any matchup on a user's bracket page
Now it's time for everyone in the competition to complete the following VERY IMPORTANT 3 step process.
1. Click your name on the site. Is the bracket we have listed for you there 100% correct? If not, post back here with the changes you need to have made.
2. Tag this topic! LtK and others will be keeping you updated on results, Guru stats for upcoming matchups, and Eliminations all season long!
3. Post the link to your bracket in your sig, so everyone can see what a genius you are as you roll to this season's Guru Championship! Just take the URL from when you click your name on the home page- it's not going to change. For instance if you were Dr. Football you'd link to http://thengamer.com/guru/bracket.php?id=140
Here's to another exciting season!

Congratulations to BlAcK TuRtLe, the Guru champion for the 2010 GotD.
Made this while I was typing. Should have checked first. Was watching tv at the same time.
Thanks to Regaro finally realising two errors on the bracket entered, we have another elimination:
Greatone by regaro
Not sure which match exactly, but it was before the current match. Coincidentally, greatone was out in this match anyway - overlooked it on the list last night.
No elims with a Link win.
I notice Allen's bracket is wrong too with Crono losing rd 1 and winning in rd 2.
Elims from Samus winning: Ngamer and Leon by jacko, tofa, jman, yesmar, Robbie, tazzy, regaro, exdeath, supernice, BK, Fpce, raven and the cookie Chocobo by turtle, regaro, oranejo, bartz, jacko, tofa, jman, sephirot, hobo and football Zylo by Hitagi, cyan and haste Stevr by granzon
I'll have a look at the other brackets on the site to check for errors, hoping nobody else's is wrong.
Went through the guru site, noticed a few differences.
Black Turtle has Mario as champ from the sign up topic, and should still be alive because of this. Unless I missed a change.
PaulG was eliminated on the Chell v Frog match.
I had three errors on my spreadsheet, none result in less or more elims. May result in different people eliminating people, dunno. I had the following incorrect:
Angelo, I had zidane winning rd 2, so I had you two points less. As your bracket is fairly unique, I doubt this would have given you any more elims.
Bartz, I had you with Sora winning rd 3. As its a future match, this wouldn't have affected elims, yet.
Strahax, I had Jill winning in rd 1. Gives him an extra point and may have led to a few more elims by strahax. I guess only one person wants that anyway.
The three changes above have been fixed now. If the two changes to the guru site are made, they should match up ok.
Can't guarantee I didn't make any errors with somebodys bracket that I have said is eliminated. If you think you should still be alive, and are fairly sure about it, let me know and I will double check.
I find it interesting that compared to last contest, even though I took 30% the risks, I did 3 times as bad when it came to them playing out, only 1 in 12 this contest compared to 1 in 4 last panned out. And, the only matches I've missed to this point (provided Frogus wins) have been my risks. Oh well.

Still a badass. http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/5861/raydyn2.png http://img.imgcake.com/Raydynpngus.png
Thanks ox. Having issues with my phone battery, think its sorted now.
Out: Yesmar, Robbie and cookie by exdeath, BK and Fpce Jacko, tofa and jman by tazzy, supernice and raven Cyan and David by haste Sephirot by tranny, exdeath, BK and Fpce Chichiri and strahax by djungel
Others to add to your list: Football - tranny, regaro and binro Oranejo - regaro, exdeath, BK, Fpce and binro Bartz - tranny, tazzy, supernice and raven
Means we will be down to 16 or 17, no idea if Allen can still win or not, maybe if there is a massive upset that he picks and nobody else does.
Since Bacon can't have the Sora/Riku upset, I'd say he's definitely out, unless he has X/Zero > Mario/Bowser and/or Alucard/Dracula > Link/Ganondorf. If he has those picks, then he clearly wants everyone to have free karma.

Congratulations to BlAcK TuRtLe, the Guru champion for the 2010 GotD.
Looks like SuperNiceDog will win the Guru, assuming everything goes as expected. Who?

I think someone is being way, way too sensitive. Do we have to stop saying "You got owned" in order to not offend black people due to slavery? - wg64Z
Assuming Bacon took Chell/GlaDOS today he'll be up for an elimination if Snakes wins. MMX/Zero to the finals gives him 24 points which would put him tied for first, but we have two high scoring brackets with either Red/Blue or Samus/Ridley winning next round and he has neither pair competing thus he's eliminated.
Well, I thought I was a complete moron on Day 2 of this when I realized how dumb having Sora over Squall looked. Now, I realize I was actually on to something.
Such a pity that it doesn't matter anyway because I had Fighters in the semis, but if Sora regains the lead, it would have erased the damage from my Phoenix upset.

Turtle, check the signup topic that Ngamer posted near the start of this topic. It's what you said you had. Not sure that a change this late would be accepted so I'll wait to see.
