Every year we get one, and every year no matter what the topic is, it always comes down to some form of ff7 vs. mario, zelda or, metal gear. there's hardly ever anything different.

It takes the fun out of it. I think we need to do a who's your favorite character rumble "no cloud sephiroth snake mario or link edition" because people will always fall to those 5 characters no matter what and the contests just become redundant.

You watch in a week when those 5 characters are on the front page in the finals you're gonna go "oh this again"

aside from the money the fun is gone. Past battles show that you can basically put link vs cloud at the end and its a roll of the dice from there.

Atleast with those 5 things out you bring back a little surprise element.

if you wanna see an up in the air contest, you would have to remove everyone that was on the noble nine because it's pretty obvious they would just win.

Two of the characters you listed have never sniffed a final in a 1v1 format. So that's not obvious at all. And as several people have already mentioned, if you remove the top five of the noble nine, the next four just slide up and everyone complains about them. This will be an issue until you remove anyone who's notably good, at which point you have a bunch of fodder in the contest and still no one cares.

If you were arguing that we should stop having this contest, I'd agree. Arguing that removing a few characters will freshen it up is just disconnected from reality. I don't think you've really thought this through. Luckily, most of us B8 regulars have! Glad we can help out.

Samus would guaranteed win that tournament. So you need to remove at least six, because there's doubt between who wins between Mega Man, Sonic, Crono, MissingNo.
