This song saved me from giving Carl first place. For this I thank you, Vince. 8.0/10

2. Carl: Protest the Hero ~ Spoils
Although it cannot match up at all to their debut effort, Fortress is a quality album. 7.6/10

3. Cokes: Neko Case - Hold On, Hold On
I didn't get very interested in this track. It was ok. 7.5/10

4. Not Dave: Ben Howard - The Wolves
I liked this one a little. 7.3/10

5. WingedInsignia: Yellow Magic Orchestra - Rydeen
This was decent. I don't know if I liked the second half as much, though. 6.9/10

6. Whakko: Tove Styrke - Chaos
I didn't find this one particularly impressive, I'm afraid. 5.9/10

7. KCF: Shawn Lee - Vendetta Jocks
VG music in my sotw? No way, I can't believe this! But seriously, this track was just "eh" for me. Sorry. 5.5/10

8. JC: Skylar Grey - Love the Way You Lie
Didn't like this song when Rihanna sang it, still don't like it. 3.5/10

Kind of breakbeat-y. It's undeveloped, like a lot of VGM, and I can't come up with a strong opinion on it one way or the other.

Chrono - Protest the Hero - Spoils
I should hate this but I don't. The screaming is a little much, though. Neat little faux-neoclassical piano bit at the end.

Vince - The Walkmen - Angela Surf City
I agree with the comment on the intensity. It's definitely driving. Reminds me of Arcade Fire and Interpol and the Arctic Monkeys and the Kaiser Chiefs without really having any of the defining traits of any of them.

I've heard the Rihanna cover, and this isn't all that different from that. It reminds me too much of Taylor Swift and that song by The Answer from last week. I feel like I've heard it many times before.

The vocals remind me of Adele and feel insincere, and the beat's uninteresting.
