I was voting for it just help help get rid of other stuff. The fact that it outlasted Joltik is pretty awesome. Still, I'm glad it's gone. If it had gotten anymore support, it probably would've won the whole contest for the lulz.

There are... three I definitely don't want to see win, five I wouldn't mind winning but I'm not actively rooting for them, and three I would be perfectly content with winning - one of those three I'd be ecstatic with winning but it probably won't happen.

double awesome - long overdue satanic spawn of contest evil, and Chandelure wins its line. great job everyone.

only one pokemon left i wouldn't personally be happy with winning and it still wouldn't be that bad. (similarly, though i like Lilligant and Volcarona, I'll probably ditch them at final 10 for Team Smugviatula. nice to have that luxury.)

Battle factors into whether or not I like it, but that's not all of it. As I probably should have made more clear, it looks badass. And it's a beast in battle. Pretty much the two most important things for me. Serperior's design is incredibly bland to me, and it has no use in battle. So I don't like it.

i don't think i'd let 'being good' affect my tastes, but stats are a part of design the same way that image and dex entry are. Gardevoir wouldn't be the same to me if she was a physical sweeper, for example - it wouldn't fit.

and of course if i use you in my team i'll grow to like you more, whether it's in-game or online.

Anyway, my favorite Pokemon tend to be the ones I use on my teams, and usually I only use ones that are at least decent stat/moveset-wise. Of course, there are always some others that make my list for their looks though, and those are usually the adorably cute Pokemon.

I only utilize good Pokes on my teams. Usually one of each of the best types the game has to offer (minus legendary, I don't like to use legendary). Because I use these Pokes more than others I tend to like them more. They're my "team".

Therefore I generally vote based on usefulness in battle. After that I vote based on designs.

I don't watch Pokemon cartoons, so the cute factor generally doesn't have an effect on me.

Hmm... my post made me sound really bad. Anyway...

Yeah, its ability in battle affects its, simply because I'm not really going to use it in the game if it's going to suck. Its design tends to have a bigger influence on whether or not I like it, even if it is good in battle. Using them on my initial playthrough (of which Excadrill was pretty much the leader), helps a lot,. Outside things also sometimes have an influece if I really like them. I always liked Grovyle, but his role in PMD shot his likability up signficiantly for me. He's probably in my top 20 now, but I don't really have a concrete list or anything. Same with Gyarados and Ursaring, as they've saved my ass so many times in my current Nuzlocke run on SoulSilver. But if I've never used it, there's no motivation for me to raise one for battle, and I don't like its design... that pretty much spells dislike for me.
