I just spent my first night staring at my torches, worrying whether time limitations had been added to them or not.

I just lost my hardcore save by dying :( Skeleton shot me into a lava lake of course. That's pretty much the only way to die in minecraft once you get going. It's a miracle I stayed alive as long as I did, because I was in a huge lava-covered cave system for about 6 hours. I had 19 diamonds on me and was just looking for the rest of my reagents in this secret chest room I built (and promptly lost), and was then going to head to the surface to gather paper so I could enchant for the first time. Then a skeleton started shooting me and I couldn't figure out where, and as I was running I got too close to a ledge and from nowhere his arrow smacked me into the deepest lava lake ever.

Hardcore is awesome though. I mean, I have nothing to show for like 10 hours of play, and never reached my ultimate goal of enchanting my first item, but it was effing exciting!
