I'm just starting the video myself, but a few things I've noticed: - The addition of EX moves as potential string continuations seems to add a whole new depth to the gameplay. SC used to be a bunch of back and forth poking and blocking because like nothing was safe, but now there are new MIND GAMES. - Seem to be a lot more guard crush attacks. - Breaking grabs makes you still take a little damage, but you can't die from breaking a grab - I'm still not really sure what the "Guard Burst" is (when the game slows down and armor breaks from blocking too much). You presumably take more damage after losing armor, but it seems like maybe you can get a small combo off of a Guard Burst? - Leixia seems really fun to play - Ezio looks kind of meh - Natsu's PO stance is really neat with the disappearing, but man does it hurt my eyes - 1:01:00 dat Tira combo. This game is starting to look like Marvel!
I'm starting to get excited for this game as an actual tournament-viable game that will last for more than a year and then fizzle out!
Huh, besides the short range, I thought he looked pretty good, actually.

Seeing this promising stuff has boosted my hype beyond my standard "OMG SOULCALIBUR" hype into "wow this game could actually be a really good hardcore game" hype. Definitely way more hyped for this than SFxT now. It hasn't surpassed my UMVC3 hype, though (even though I never played MVC3).
They also said somewhere that the CAS stuff was boosted by 130%, and I already loved wasting time in the pretty limited CAS of SC4. I hope they include costumes that are basically some of the old characters.
Who are the staple movesets we're still missing?
Kilik/Mina, Yoshimitsu, Cervantes, Yun Seong/Hwang, Zas, and the Weapon Master dude?
From: Weakupedia | #027 Also, isn't Nightmare just the same Nightmare throughout the games?
Well technically speaking, Nightmare is just the name Siegfried went by under Soul Edge's influence. And then when he broke free, it uh... manifested its own body somehow, and continued to go by the name Nightmare.
I think. It's all terribly confusing.

I think the idea was that Nightmare takes on the form of its host, which I guess is right, maybe. I mean Siegfried!Nightmare was just Siegfried with his arm transformed, and when Nightmare became a separate entity, it just kept looking like it used to more or less. Before that, I guess you could say Cervantes was "Nightmare" though? And he still looked like Cervantes. Then again, he's clearly not possessed by the spirit of Soul Edge now, and he's not treated as though he's a different person.
Screw it, there's no making sense of it. I just want to see Sophitia!Nightmare. For novelty's sake. Especially Sophitia!Nightmare doing that one throw move where she sits on your face before flipping you. Oh the horror.

this makes me question soul calibur's creators
what a ridiculous thing to deem necessary
What's ridiculous about this is that they reduced the ass jiggle each game while revving up the breast jiggle. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
