I walk by the park where they're all camped out nearly every day. It's not very big and it's literally right in front of a federal courthouse. I'm friends with some of the protestors and they're upset but not planning to retaliate in any way, which is good. The last thing I need is class warfare on my walk to work.

There is an Occupy Iowa City movement going on in a park right next to where I live. It's an eye sore on a place I used to love to visit before them jerkwads pitched their tents three weeks ago. I'd probably be the one to throw the chemical bomb into that camping area. Give me back my pleasant looking park, dammit. Get your silly tents and cardboard signs and lawn chairs and assemblies out of here.

Haha yeah, that guy who was all, "Somebody might be walking around the park shooting people? Eh, somebody'll deal with it *rolls over, falls asleep*" is hilarious.

...I don't recall what you said being offensive at all. Wrong? Yes, but anywhere near moddable? No.

Yep! Dude who threw the bomb isn't necessarily for the establishment, but he's sure as hell against tearing it down.
Also, are there really that many unemployed/part-time workers who are upper middle class white people? Because I really can't understand how this movement is picking up any kind of steam. I suppose there are just more out-of-work humanities majors than I first realized!

You can't be an upper middle class white person if you're unemployed.
so in other words, if they aren't living on their parents money there's nothing else you'd use to lump them into "white upper middle class" then? because if no one is giving you money and you don't have any money, you're no longer part of "white upper middle class" or "white whine" or "LOL white people problems." in that case you are just a poor person.
OWS is comprised of upper-middle class white people on their parents' money (typically college kids, graduate students, or city-dwellers on their folks' dime), indie hipsters pretending that smoking pot outside of public places constitutes "making a difference," and sly opportunists trying to get laid.
That last part is the only redeemable part of the movement.

From: BoshStrikesBack | #026 Fine, I'll be more specific:

I can't speak for the rest of the world, but I saw the occupy Vancouver people and they're prettymuch not like that at all from what I saw.

Of course you can. If you grew up in an upper middle class family, you are upper middle class. It's just like how if a super rich person loses it all in the stock market and declares bankruptcy, he's still part of the rich class and not poor.
