1. Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra)
Alright, the pacing and set ups for this song were top tier. Good vocals and a neat instrumental track.

2. Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - Black (ft. Norah Jones)
Great piece. Kinda err emotionlessish but still really good. Really good instrumental and composition.

3. Wintersleep - Weighty Ghost
Really liked this. Really good composition makes up for kind of average instrumentals.

4. Adebisi Shank - Genki Shank
Great sound, really keeps you into it the whole way.

5. Cake - Meanwhile, Rick James
This was pretty neat. It carries well all the way through and has some good instrumental, but doesn't really break any ground or take any real risks/does anything extra special. Good sounds, but missing that edge.

6. Inna Modja - French Cancan (Monsieur Sainte Nitouche)
This girl has a really good voice. Good production, kinda catchy, but not anything extremely special.

Now we have The National. Most of the time I can't stand these guys, but this was okay. Boring vocals/lyrics, but a good piano. Still doesn't do anything to change my views on them.

It's pretty neat how Tom Waits changed his style. But I just can't get myself to really get into his music. Too much "just talking" here.

This really is plain unfair you know JC. Not the best National song, but it's up there. And since they're in my personal top 5, that means 9.5/10

Wintersleep - Weighty Ghost
This was actually really good. Nothing shocking or original, but very solid. Like it. Might check em out even! 8.5/10

Tom Waits - Step Right Up
Classic Tom Waits. Can't go wrong there. 8/10

Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - Black (ft. Norah Jones)
I was like 'I KNOW THIS SONG'. Then I read Breaking Bad. Oh okay. Danger Mouse is mostly good stuff. This is no different. 7.5/10

Adebisi Shank - Genki Shank
Hey math rock. COOL. This was pretty standard fare as far as math rock goes but it was good. 7.5/10

Cake - Meanwhile, Rick James
I liked this. that's all I can say because it wasn't remarkable. Catchy chorus. 7/10


RJD2 - Ghostwriter
Heard a lot of praise for this, still don't see it. It was good, I guess? 6.5/10

Lights ft. Holy F*** - Everybody Breaks a Glass
I've never heard her but always was told she was really generic or awful. I agree with the 'so generic' opinion. Her voice is incredibly plain. Song was okay. 5.5/10

this song is almost as quiet as lockes' kwoon rec a while back. somehow relaxing and catchy at the same time. i was also caught off guard by kimbra's arrival in the video and her voice fit the song great
