have frequently had sushi at 2 places for lunch. sushi bar types mind you, not restaurants. 3 rolls for $10, so 15 pieces.
the other main one's a buck more.

both of those are actually with pretty damn good quality, especially for the price as i've had some twice as much that was equal to or worse even in some cases. otherwise have been to sushi restaurants where you had fancier sushis with all you can eat buffet style for around $25 per person. in which case... yeah, you'd make sure you got your money's worth. ignoring that though, the most i've seen for a roll was about 8, and the norm of a roll for $5-6.

i went to a t.g.i. fridays got a steak there and it way great, was only $18 and some change

Oh man TGIF's ny strips are amazin

But yeah it depends on the place. There's a brazilian steak house here that is $40 and really good and worth it, but there's another that is only $20 and arguably better, so I would still call the second one really cheap even though it's $20.

nope, never saw that ep.
but i have had the bad kind of cheap sushi. first time i went it was okay. then i went to the 2 really good places that are cheap.
tried the first one again and it was night and day.

My thing with paying >$20 for a meal is that it has to be REALLY good because otherwise I will just be thinking I could have made it myself for 1/5th the price.

I can literally not think of a single resturant around me other than the melting pot where I would ppay more than $20 with tip and drink.

Unless you get dessert in which case you guys arent doing it right.

Cheap, probably anywhere I can get a "meal" for $5. If I could eat there every meal without killing my food budget, that's cheap.
